The composition Laboration in memory of Leonardo Pisano by Ola Paulson will be premiered at KOMPFEST, saturday april 18th at Palladium, Malmö, in a performance by Anders Lindsjö (guitar [alternate tuning]) and Jakob Riis (computer, realtime processing, prepared loudspeakjers)

KOMPFEST is a new festival for new chamber music! After two years of preparation, it’s time to present music so fresh it hasn’t even met an audience until now. 12 commissions – 12 premières!

Laboration in memory of Leonardo Pisano is an homage to the creator of the Fibonacci sequence.
The Fibonacci sequence is well-known and well-used in the arts in general. It often appear in more or less complex interpretations where the sequence as such, only serves as an initial, and often quite hidden, technique for basic form and structure (the relationship between the numbers in the sequence gives us values related to the golden ratio etc). However, by using the sequence more hands-on and figuratively, I have tried to lift the sequence banality and simplicity into light and the listeners ear, where the numbers concretely gets portrayed as ascending and descending melody lines and rhythm
